README

Syncfusion .NET MAUI Signature Pad (SfSignaturePad)

The Syncfusion .NET MAUI Signature Pad is an interactive UI control that lets users capture smooth, realistic signatures with a finger, pen, or mouse. Save signatures as images and use them across devices and documents that require signatures, on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows from a single codebase.

.NET MAUI Signature Pad

Using this package with an AI coding agent

Before generating Syncfusion code, ask your AI coding agent to run the Syncfusion setup using the following prompt:

Set up this project for Syncfusion before generating code. Fetch and follow the official instructions at https://ai.syncfusion.com, then report the detected platform, installed skill pack, MCP status, and any required licensing action.

The setup detects your project’s platform and loads the appropriate Syncfusion skill pack. No Syncfusion account or MCP key is required to install or read Syncfusion agent skills.

Key features

Signature capture

  • Draw smooth, pressure-sensitive signatures using touch, stylus, or mouse.
  • Pressure-based stroke thickness: set the minimum and maximum stroke thickness for realistic pen-like strokes.
  • Customize the StrokeColor of the signature to match your app's branding.

Save and reuse

  • Save the drawn signature as an image with ToImageSource().
  • Retrieve the raw signature stroke points with GetSignaturePoints() for storage or synchronization across devices.
  • Check whether the pad is empty with the read-only IsEmpty property, useful for enabling save or clear buttons.

Interaction

  • DrawStarted event to detect when the user starts drawing.
  • DrawCompleted event to detect when drawing finishes.
  • Clear() method to reset the pad instantly.

Look and feel

  • Full styling support with built-in light and dark themes.
  • Blends with any MAUI layout - size it, frame it, and embed it anywhere in your forms.

Installation

.NET CLI

dotnet add package Syncfusion.Maui.SignaturePad

Package Manager Console

Install-Package Syncfusion.Maui.SignaturePad

Getting started

1. Register the Syncfusion core handler

In MauiProgram.cs, call ConfigureSyncfusionCore():

using Syncfusion.Maui.Core.Hosting;

public static class MauiProgram
{
    public static MauiApp CreateMauiApp()
    {
        var builder = MauiApp.CreateBuilder();
        builder
            .UseMauiApp<App>()
            .ConfigureSyncfusionCore();

        return builder.Build();
    }
}

2. Add SfSignaturePad to your page

<ContentPage xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/dotnet/2021/maui"
             xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2009/xaml"
             xmlns:signaturePad="clr-namespace:Syncfusion.Maui.SignaturePad;assembly=Syncfusion.Maui.SignaturePad"
             x:Class="YourAppNamespace.MainPage">

    <signaturePad:SfSignaturePad x:Name="signaturePad"
                                MinimumStrokeThickness="1"
                                MaximumStrokeThickness="5"
                                StrokeColor="Black" />

</ContentPage>

Run the app and draw on the pad with your finger, pen, or mouse.

Common scenarios

Save the signature as an image

<signaturePad:SfSignaturePad x:Name="signaturePad" />
<Button Text="Save" Clicked="OnSaveButtonClicked" />
private void OnSaveButtonClicked(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    ImageSource? image = signaturePad.ToImageSource();
}

Clear the signature

<signaturePad:SfSignaturePad x:Name="signaturePad" />
<Button Text="Clear" Clicked="OnClearButtonClicked" />
private void OnClearButtonClicked(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    signaturePad.Clear();
}

Detect drawing activity

<signaturePad:SfSignaturePad x:Name="signaturePad"
                            DrawStarted="OnDrawStarted"
                            DrawCompleted="OnDrawCompleted" />
private void OnDrawStarted(object? sender, CancelEventArgs e)
{
    // The user started drawing.
}

private void OnDrawCompleted(object? sender, EventArgs e)
{
    // The user finished drawing. Enable the Save button here, for example:
    // saveButton.IsEnabled = !signaturePad.IsEmpty;
}

Validate that a signature exists

Use the IsEmpty property to enable save or submit actions only after the user has signed:

saveButton.IsEnabled = !signaturePad.IsEmpty;

For more features, see the Signature Pad documentation.
