README

SwiftBindings.Kingfisher

Native Swift interop bindings for Kingfisher, a powerful pure-Swift library for downloading and caching images from the web. These are not Objective-C proxy wrappers — they use .NET 10's native Swift interop for direct, high-performance calls into Swift APIs from C#.

📖 Full usage guide → — Swift→C# naming, the KF fluent builder for setting images on a UIImageView, awaited retrieval via KingfisherManager, cache and downloader configuration, processors, prefetching, and the limitations that decide which APIs are callable.

Installation

dotnet add package SwiftBindings.Kingfisher

Requirements

  • .NET 10.0+
  • iOS 15.0+ — the binding's enforced deployment floor. Upstream Kingfisher supports iOS 13.0, but the .NET binding's SupportedOSPlatformVersion is clamped up to the .NET iOS platform floor (15.0), so that is the effective minimum for consumers.
  • macOS host for development

Usage

Shared manager and caches

using Kingfisher;

var manager = KingfisherManager.Shared;
var cache = ImageCache.Default;
var downloader = ImageDownloader.Default;

Custom cache and downloader

var cache = new ImageCache("MyCache");
var downloader = new ImageDownloader("MyDownloader");

Image processors

using var processor = DefaultImageProcessor.Default;

See Kingfisher's documentation for the full API surface (download options, cache policies, processors, indicators).

Documentation

How It Works

These bindings are auto-generated by Swift Dotnet Bindings using .NET 10's native Swift interop via the SwiftBindings SDK.

Building from Source

Only needed if you're contributing or building the package locally.

# One-time: install the pinned Nuke CLI from .config/dotnet-tools.json
dotnet tool restore

# Build the package end-to-end (xcframework + bindings + dotnet build)
dotnet nuke BuildLibrary --library Kingfisher

License

The bindings are MIT licensed. Kingfisher itself is MIT licensed — see Kingfisher's license.

Changes from Previous Version

No structural changes between v8.11.1 and v8.12.0.

Adoption Assessment

Assess this package against its supported frameworks, license, maintenance signals and dependency graph before making it a project standard.

Compatibility metadata lists 1 target framework; confirm the exact target used by your application.
