README

DevExpress WinForms BI Dashboard Controls

The DevExpress WinForms Dashboard package includes the DashboardDesigner and DashboardViewer business intelligence controls for WinForms applications. These controls allow users to design, preview, and print dashboards directly in WinForms desktop applications.

Included Components

  • Dashboard Designer — A full-featured drag-and-drop design surface that allows users to create and modify dashboards at runtime.
  • Dashboard Viewer — An interactive control that displays dashboards in WinForms applications.

Key Features

How to Use

Install the following package:

dotnet add package DevExpress.WinForms.Dashboard

For .NET projects additionally install DevExpress.Win.Dashboard.Design.

Add the DashboardDesigner or DashboardViewer control from the Toolbox to a WinForms form.

Create a WinForms Designer Application

Add the DashboardDesigner control to a WinForms form, register a data connection, and load an existing dashboard:

using DevExpress.DashboardWin;
using DevExpress.DataAccess.ConnectionParameters;

// In the form constructor or Load handler:
dashboardDesigner1.CreateRibbon();

// Register a SQL data connection
var connectionParameters = new MSSqlConnectionParameters("localhost", "Northwind", "", "", MSSqlAuthorizationType.Windows);
dashboardDesigner1.Dashboard.DataSources.Add(new DashboardSqlDataSource("Northwind", connectionParameters));

// Load a dashboard from a file
dashboardDesigner1.LoadDashboard("Dashboard.xml");

The designer opens the loaded dashboard for editing. Users can drag data fields, add dashboard items, and configure bindings visually.

Display a Dashboard in Viewer Mode

Add the DashboardDesigner control to a WinForms form and load a dashboard.

using DevExpress.DashboardWin;

// Load and display a dashboard read-only
dashboardViewer1.LoadDashboard("Dashboard.xml");
dashboardViewer1.ReloadData();

The viewer renders the dashboard with full interactivity (master filtering, drill-down) but without editing UI.
